How We Each View the World

Art is extraordinary—born from the sensitivity of the one who creates it. I’ve always been a creative, even long before I would have dared to call myself that.

Today I found myself talking about a cocktail, describing how I prefer certain soda waters over others. One in particular has large, irregular bubbles that I can feel distinctly in my mouth and even in my stomach. I realized I preferred those with finer, more consistent bubbles. I didn’t think I was talking about creativity—but the person I was with pointed out how interesting it was that I noticed and described it that way.

The truth is, that’s just how I experience the world. For a long time, I’ve believed that the work of an artist is to translate their way of seeing into a chosen medium—sharing a personal reality in a way that invites others to witness a beauty or perspective they might never have encountered on their own.

Lately, I’ve been writing short reflections for my website—little windows into why I created certain pieces and what they’ve meant to me. In doing so, I’ve been transported back to those initial sparks of inspiration. It reminds me of the feeling you get taking a child to an amusement park or a toy store—you begin to see it all anew through their eyes.

I’ve always loved the rush of a new idea. They come easily to me, but there’s something just as magical about revisiting them. In writing, I often rediscover meanings I hadn’t seen before. It’s like rereading a beloved book—there’s always something new waiting between the lines.

I hope you enjoy reading the stories behind the pieces on the site. It’s been a joy to write them.
